I am an Egyptian, Korean, Muslim Ohioan raised on hip hop, self-expression, and a deep commitment to equity and justice. I have spent twenty years in education, working in public schools, school networks, nonprofit service providers, and higher education institutions across eleven different states. My understanding and experience of large urban public school districts and higher education institutions is borne out of the friction of working to innovate within the dense policies and resources constraints of those systems. So it is no surprise that I am often called upon to build new things or help turn them around.
I was a founding high school principal twice, starting non-selective district-wide high schools with an international theme in the two largest public school districts in my home state, and I have built college access and college success programs and partnerships across multiple sectors for the last decade, leading from a different seat every time.
What I love most about my work is supporting other educators in the self-actualizing process of embracing the most authentic and powerful version of themselves. I look forward to helping you achieve your vision of equitable outcomes for our students and communities.
I am an innovative K12-turned-higher ed leader obsessed with the notion that all students are “college material”
